Pirates of the Caribbean is a sweeping action-adventure story set in an era when villainous pirates scavenged the Caribbean seas. It starts out when the Governer's daughter, Elizabeth Swann, is on board a military ship which rescues a young boy. Elizabeth hides the boy's medallion in order to hide the fact that he is a pirate. In the fog and mist of the sea, Elizabeth thinks she sees the mysterious ship, The Black Pearl. Years later, when the force of the Medallion calls out, it brings the crew of the Black Pearl to the bay in search of the gold.

Because of the curse Captain Barbossa and his crew kidnap Elizabeth thinking that she will reverse the curse. Will Turner, the young boy that was rescued years ago and Pirate Jack Sparrow are forced to team up. Will only wanting to save Elizabeth because he loves her, and Jack because he hopes it will lead him to the lost treasure and the opportunity to regain the ship that was stolen from him. Against improbably odds, they race towards a thrilling climatic confrontation on the mysterious Isla de Muerta. Clashing their swords in fierce mortal combat, Will and Jack attempt to recapture The Black Pearl ship, save the British navy, and relinquish a fortune in forbidden treasure thereby lifting the curse of the Pirates of the Caribbean!
